Operating Tips
Congratulations on your new Nebula Lighting System!
We would like to share with you some helpful information regarding our system and how it operates.
Power: The low voltage system is 12 Volt DC that requires a power supply which is located on the side of the home.
Power Supply: Your power supply is a step-down transformer and is plugged into a GFCI outlet, most likely outside of your cage.
System Control Options: We either provided you a remote control or a remote control and a cell phone app that operates the system.
- RF-ONLY Remote Control: The small RF Wireless “credit card” remote has several different functions, including dimming capability and dynamic mode for our Classic White LEDs. On dimming mode, you can adjust the brightness of the lights. Whereas on dynamic mode, you can choose from 8 different flashing patterns as well as the speed the lights flash in each pattern. The remote will only be able to control your lights when used in and around your deck area.
- RF “OVAL” FUT006 (Classic Cool White LEDs) Remote Control: The companion remote when you purchase our systems with both a Cell App and Remote Control, this RF remote control can:
- Turn your lights on and off.
- Adjust the brightness of your LEDs.
- RF “OVAL” FUT096 (RGBW LEDs) Remote Control: The companion remote when you have a Cell App and Remote Control, this remote can:
- Turn your lights on and off.
- Change the color of your lights using the color wheel.
- Turn your lights back to Classic White.
- Adjust the brightness of your LEDs.
This remote control has the following modes or color patterns:
- TUYA Cell Phone App: The TUYA SMART app allows you to operate your lights from wherever your phone or tablet is, provided you have access to WIFI. The TUYA app can do everything your remote control and do. In addition, the TUYA app can:
- Adjust the brightness of your cage lights.
- Support music rhythm.
- Support third party voice control of your lighting through either Google Assistant or Alexa.
- and has two basic entertainment modes. The operation of your lights is dependent on adequate WIFI strength in your pool or lanai area.
Nebula’s LEDS: Nebula Lighting has been using custom-assembled LEDs in our lighting system for over 16 years and our current life expectancy of the LEDs is approximately 8+ years. Nebula’s goal is to provide even, functional, ambient lighting in your pool or patio enclosure. Our Classic White LEDs are a cool white which matches the color of the stars at night.
The environment plays a role in the performance of the LEDs. To maximize the life expectancy of your LED system we recommend that the lighting system should be operated on a regular basis. Operating your lights regularly helps minimize moisture build up throughout the system by allowing it to evaporate as we reside in a wet climate.
The system is 12-volt DC which requires very little electricity to operate. In fact, it would use less electricity than a 60-watt light bulb. So, feel free to enjoy your Nebula Lighting System on a nightly basis!
Put your Lights on a timer to maximize LED life: Installing an outdoor timer on your GFI Outlet is an easy way to regularly use your Nebula Lights even if you aren’t home. This will allow you to set the nightly operating hours and the desired brightness setting onto the timer and then you won’t have to worry about remembering to turn on the lights yourself.
PVC Extrusion (AKA “Tracks”): At time of installation the PVC extrusion is custom cut on site to fit each beam’s length and angles. At certain times throughout the year, you may notice a small separation in some of the joints. This is usually the result of the cage expanding and contracting because of the fluctuation of temperatures. This is a natural occurrence and does not affect the performance of the system.
Thank you for purchasing The Nebula Lighting System. The above information is provided so that you will be able to enjoy the system with minimum maintenance for years to come.
