Operating Tips

Congratulations on your new Nebula Lighting System!

We would like to share with you some helpful information regarding our system and how it operates.

Power: The low voltage system is 12 Volt DC that requires a power supply which is located on the side of the home.

Master ON/OFF: There is a silver toggle switch located underneath the power supply where you can manually turn the system on and off. This should be left in the ON position and owner should use the remote control to control operate the lights,

System Control Options: We either provided you a remote control or a cell phone app that operates the system.

  • Remote Control: The remote has several different functions including dimming capability and dynamic mode. On dimming mode, you can adjust the brightness of the lights. Whereas on dynamic mode, you can choose from 8 different flashing patterns as well as the speed the lights flash in each particular pattern. The remote will only be able to control your lights when used with in and around your deck area.
  • Cell Phone App: The cell phone app allows you to operate your lights from wherever your phone is. It also will control the dimming and has two basic entertainment modes. However operation of your lights is dependent on adequate WIFI strength in your pool or lanai area.

NOTE: The system comes with one remote control per system. If you should happen to lose or damage the remote, we can provide a new one, but it will require changing the existing sensor as it is programmed to the original remote.

Nebula’s LEDS: Nebula Lighting has been using Cree LEDs in our lighting system for over 13 years and our current life expectancy of the LEDs is approximately 8+ years. Environment plays a role in the performance of the LEDs. In order to maximize the life expectancy of your LED system we recommend that the lighting system should be operated on a regular basis. This is to minimize moisture build up throughout the system by allowing it to evaporate as we reside in a wet climate. The system is 12 volt DC which requires very little electricity to operate. In fact, it would use less electricity than a 60 watt light bulb. So feel free to enjoy your Nebula Lighting System on a nightly basis!

Put your Lights on a timer to maximize LED life: Installing an outdoor timer on your GFI Outlet is an easy way to regularly use your Nebula Lights even if you aren’t home. This will allow you to set the nightly operating hours and the desired brightness setting onto the timer and then you won’t have to worry about remembering to turn on the lights yourself.

PVC Extrusion (AKA “Tracks”): At time of installation the PVC extrusion is custom cut on site to fit each beam’s length and angles. At certain times throughout the year you may notice a small separation in some of the joints. This is usually the result of the cage expanding and contracting because of the fluctuation of temperatures. This is a natural occurrence and does not affect the performance of the system.

Thank you for purchasing The Nebula Lighting System. The above information is provided so that you will be able to enjoy the system with minimum maintenance for years to come.
